Direct access: Do I need a referral to start physical therapy in Florida?

No. Under Florida’s direct access law, you can begin physical therapy and be treated for up to 30 days without a physician’s referral — so you can start care as soon as something starts bothering you.

Florida Statute §486.021 lets a licensed physical therapist evaluate and treat you directly. To continue care beyond 30 days, Florida requires a referral from your physician, and some insurance plans ask for one sooner. When you book, we’ll check your plan’s rules so there are no surprises.

Insurance: Does Core Rehabilitation accept my insurance?

Most likely, yes. We’re in-network with more than 200 insurance plans — including Medicare, major commercial insurers, Tricare, workers’ compensation, and auto/PIP coverage — at all three clinics.

Search your plan below, or call the clinic nearest you and we’ll verify your specific benefits before your first visit. Don’t see your plan? It may still be covered — our accepted list changes often, so it’s always worth a quick call.
